Volvo Construction Equipment to exhibit at Bauma China 2002| 2002-09-13

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) will take part in the first International Trade Fair for Construction Machinery and Building Material Machines - Bauma China 2002.

With 1,000 m2 exhibit space at Bauma China, held from 5 to 8 November 2002 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, Volvo CE will be one of the largest exhibitor at this trade fair. Around 30,000 visitors are expected.

Volvo CE will present 15 products from their comprehensive product range - wheel loaders, articulated haulers, motor graders, excavators and compact equipment.

1 Volvo Truck and 2 Volvo Penta engines will also be included. Volvo CE will have a stand on two floors with reception, show  room, demo and presentation areas. 2000 VIP Volvo customers will
be invited to the show.

“China is seeing a boom in the construction industry due to its widespread construction of multiple-story buildings and growth in the civil-engineering sector. This results in rapidly growing demand for high-quality construction products and services,” says Mr Keith Ellis, President of Volvo CE Asia Markets.

“Bauma China 2002 will provide Volvo CE with a platform to show our world-leading products to local customers,” says Mr Tony Helsham, President & CEO of Volvo CE, who is scheduled to pay a visit to Bauma China 2002.

In China, Volvo CE has been granted the business license on March 15, 2002 to establish a wholly owned subsidiary at Shanghai Pudong. The new venture, Volvo Construction Equipment (China) Co, Ltd, plans to start production of crawler excavators as an initial product in March 2003.
